I want to express to you the very sincere sympathy of his officers and comrades in your great loss I hope you will take consolation from the fact that he was killed in the course of duty to his country. Annals of Bridlington - On Thursday Mrs Robson received a telegram from a base hospital in France, conveying the painful news that
her eldest son had died from wounds. The young soldier was in the 5th Yorkshire Regiment, the local Territorials, and went out to France
about six months ago. He was wounded recently by shrapnel in the back, and his last letter home was full of hope. He appears to have made
a rapid recovery and was sent back into the fighting line, when he had a relapse, and was ordered to be sent to a hospital in England.
He, however, became worse and died in one of the base hospitals before he could be conveyed to England. His younger
brother, Pte A. Robson, is serving in France with the same Regiment, whilst his father, Pte A. Robson, is doing defence duty in England
